Shindo Muso Ryu Jodo

This tradition emerged at the turn of the 17th century and remained a secret martial tradition of the Kuroda Han until the 20th century.  Though designed to be used against the sword, it has also incorporated the sword, walking stick, truncheon, sickle & chain and rope tying into its' rich tradition.

Iaido - Muso Shinden Ryu

Introduced by Nakayama Hakudo as the amalgamation of several sword arts today this discipline focuses on drawing the sword from the point of view of being disadvantaged.  The tactical situation almost always has the other combatant attacking first.
